When one’s in love, they can feel as though their heart beats in sync with their partner’s — and from an emotional point of view, this feels like pure magic. But what’s even more fascinating is that the idea of “two hearts beating as one” isn’t just a romantic theory; it’s something scientifically proven. According to research, couples’ heart rates naturally synchronize when they discuss their relationship. This synchrony becomes even stronger when partners feel deeper empathy and greater satisfaction in their bond.
Building on this insight, SKYN condom company teamed up with UltraSuperNew agency for a campaign that allowed them to explore just how powerful this bond between two lovers can be. Conceived as an experiment, the “Soft Pulse” project invited participants to test the theory and discover whether their heart rhythms are aligned with their partner’s.
The experiment paired both strangers and partners of established couples. Seated back-to-back and fitted with heart-rate monitors, the team observed their pulses in real time. To ensure the results were not influenced by external factors, participants were prevented from seeing or hearing one another.
What followed confirmed the theory to be a real fact: Strangers showed little to no alignment in their heartbeats, whereas long-time partners managed to succeed in synchronizing their rhythms. A five-minute-long video documented the experiment, demonstrating that a connection between two lovers is purely authentic.
The SKYN 2025 Winter Campaign runs as of December 1st and is live across the brand’s social media channels. As part of the initiative, the company invites the audience to experience the soft connection they have with their partners at the KURA Art Gallery. Between December 24 and 25, couples — or not — can visit the venue and participate in the experiment themselves. The first 100 visitors to arrive at the experiential exhibition will receive a “SKYN PREMIUM” gift box.
