“If you’re not showering after the bar, what are you doing?” asks a woman in a video that went viral. Her question intrigued many internet users, with many of them reacting humorously to the popular video, revealing the activities they prefer to do after a night out. From grabbing a snack to going straight to sleep, the funny answers revealed the routines most of us are familiar with. However, one habit was left out: proper hydration. Many of the party-goers reach for fast food after they drink alcohol, but forget to hydrate properly. As a result, they end up feeling dehydrated and hungover the next day.
This behavior inspired Bolt Food to come up with an unexpected solution to encourage people to hydrate: the Kebab Water. According to Bolt Food, kebabs rank as the most ordered late-night food, with demand peaking between 10 p.m. and 7 a.m. But despite the popularity, most of these orders do not include a beverage. To address this issue and encourage consumers hydrate more, the brand introduces the kebab-flavored drink, allowing people to hydrate without having to compromise on the taste.
Teaming up with flavor scientists at Tallinn University of Technology (TalTech), Bolt Food successfully translated the aromas of a kebab into the beverage. Made with Nordic spring water and minerals, such as potassium, sodium, and zinc, the drink helps reduce the discomfort of a hangover and supports recovery after a night out, minimizing the feeling of being sick the next day.
The drink comes with its own visual identity and is developed as a limited-edition product. Only 364 bottles were created, all planned to be given away for free to “creators, food critics, and mere mortals to see how accurate we got the taste,” says Kaja Aulik, Senior Creative Strategist at Bolt.
Promoted as an Instagram giveaway, the brand is inviting users to submit their chance to win a two-pack by commenting on the giveaway post, tagging one of their friends, and following @bolt and @madeinpoortaste. The contest is open to residents aged 18 and over in selected European countries and unfolds from 20 January through 3 February 2026. Winners will be announced on the brand’s social media channels on 6 February.
