To mark the beginning of a new journey as the new media partner of London Gatwick, the ridesharing company Uber teamed up with Mother London agency, releasing a humorous collection of posters at the UK airport.
The “You’re almost there” campaign showcases different yet light-hearted situations aimed at putting a smile on the over 40 million annual passengers who use the second-largest airport in the UK as a gateway to new experiences.
The campaign speaks to the passengers in a playful tone, underlining how Uber’s services help them reach their destination smoothly. So, wherever travelers are headed, the company has got them covered, as the app enables them to use the train and coach options as well.
The posters, photographed by Nick Meek, capture where passengers really aim go to: Be that they travel to Rome to enjoy the city’s cultural landscape, can’t wait to make it back home from the airport to pet their dog, or traveling to Turkey for a hair transplant.
“We aimed to connect Uber with London Gatwick’s broad passenger base, and across the airport, in literally thousands of places, there are messages designed to generate a smile,” commented the ad agency’s ECD, Martin Rose. “We hope this lifts journeys to and from London Gatwick. By elevating Uber’s iconic journey line, as seen by millions every day using the app, we’re graphically showing travelers they’re almost at their destination.”
Uber UK’s Head of Marketing, Maya Gallego Spiers, continued: “At airports, travelers want to reach their final destination as effortlessly as possible. Our campaign shows them just how close they are, reminding everyone that with Uber, ‘You’re almost there’.”
The campaign’s goal is to improve passengers’ travel experiences going to and from Gatwick. It features 2500 branded assets which will embellish the walls and airbridges of the airport until 2027.
